MacKillop excited to be expanding their programs in Newcastle and Hunter regions of NSW and is therefore seeking expressions of interest for a Regional Manager who will be tasked initially with building their team to support this new program. This is a new program for MacKillop and the Regional Manager will work closely with the Director and key internal and external stakeholders to establish the program. The focus will initially be on establishing new Intensive Therapeutic Care Homes.
The Regional Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of the Hunter Permanency Support Program ensuring services are high quality, culturally safe and operate within the agreed budget, strategic and operating plans.
Key result areas and responsibilities
The Regional Manager PSP Hunter will:
· Manage the delivery of high quality PSP services and the growth, development and continuous improvement of these services
· Work with the Director NSW Metro and Illawarra Shoalhaven and the NSW Leadership Team to ensure MacKillop’s strategic and operational priorities are achieved;
· Ensure that services reflect MacKillop’s values, policies and practice frameworks and comply with relevant service standards, legislation and Department of Communities and Justice policies and PSP program guidelines including the Permanency Case Management Policy, Rules and Practice Guidance;
· Build and develop a strong outcomes-focused team through effective recruitment, selection and induction processes; commitment to continuous improvement and accountability; and provision of ongoing practice development, coaching, supervision and clinical consultation;
· Ensure that all statutory child protection requirements are adhered to and the rights of children and young people are protected, their wellbeing is actively safeguarded and any concerns are reported immediately;
· Provide timely advice to the Director NSW Metro and Illawarra Shoalhaven in relation to client or staff issues; and other issues that may present a risk to MacKillop and/or the children, young people and families we serve;
· Monitor and review the quality and performance of MacKillop’s PSP services and lead the implementation of practice improvements that will contribute to positive outcomes for children, young people and their families;
· Comply with all internal and external reporting requirements including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on client outcomes, quality, compliance, WHS and financial performance;
· Maintain and develop strong collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including government agencies, mainstream and specialist service providers to support integrated service delivery and position MacKillop for further growth.
· Actively support and champion the Sanctuary Model as a member of the relevant Local Sanctuary Practice Team and ensure staff and carers embed Sanctuary in their practice;
· Take all reasonable and practical steps to ensure that MacKillop’s PSP Hunter Central Coast worksites are safe and ensure regular consultation occurs with the designated Work Health and Safety representative and the relevant Local Sanctuary Practice Team;
· Be available for on call and after-hours support as required;
· Be available to undertake higher duties and/or secondment as required;
· Undertake other duties as required.
Key selection criteria
The incumbent will have:
· Tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, social science, management or other relevant field with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development;
· Senior management experience in a similar role, preferably in child protection and/or out of home care; a strong understanding of trauma, attachment and child/adolescent development theory; and a commitment to strengths-based, child-focussed, family-centred and relationship-based practice. Therapeutic Residential Care experience is preferred;
· Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families;
· Demonstrated skills and experience in change management with a strong understanding of the NSW OOHC reform context, and MacKillop’s strategic and operational priorities;
· Demonstrated ability to develop high performing teams, build commitment to continuous quality improvement and accountability, and provide clear direction regarding priorities and expectations;
· A high level of initiative, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines under pressure;
· Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills and demonstrated ability to manage risk and develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems;
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to build and maintain respectful relationships with key stakeholders and work collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes;
· Sound contract and financial management skills and a demonstrated understanding of compliance and audit requirements to maintain OOHC accreditation;
· A strong commitment to the purpose and values of MacKillop Family Services, the Sanctuary Model and the Sanctuary Commitments;
· Ability to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint) and client information management systems effectively.

The incumbent must possess a:
· Valid and current NSW Drivers Licence;
· Valid and current NSW Working with Children Check;
· NDIS Check;
· Satisfactory criminal history check conducted by MacKillop Family Services.
