ABOUT THE ROLE:

Join a dynamic, evidence-based program funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, designed to keep children safe at home. This role sits within the Family Preservation and Reunification (FPR) Response - an innovative, mobile and integrated service delivering intensive, hands-on support to families, followed by ongoing care to prevent children entering or re-entering out-of-home care.

Working as part of a collaborative team and reporting to the FPR Senior Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in strengthening families, connecting with existing services, and contributing to a continuously evolving, sector-leading approach to child and family support across Victoria.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Intensive Family Support - Deliver flexible, in-home outreach to improve family safety, stability, and wellbeing
  • Early Years & Adolescent Practice - Support parenting, child development, and address complex adolescent needs using family-focused approaches
  • Assessment & Case Management - Lead holistic assessments, deliver evidence-informed interventions, and monitor outcomes
  • Collaboration & Engagement - Partner with families, services, and community networks for integrated care
  • Cultural Safety - Provide culturally responsive, inclusive practice
  • Practice Leadership & Quality - Contribute to high-quality practice through coaching, supervision, training, and continuous improvement
  • Professional Practice - Deliver clinical support, maintain documentation, and engage in supervision and development
  • Crisis Support - Provide responsive, flexible support including crisis and after-hours engagement

 

This is a Part Time (30.4 hours per week) ongoing opportunity based in Midura VIC within our Family Preservation & Reunification Program. The position reports to the FPRR Practice Leader.

 

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated and extensive experience and skills in assessment and clinical interventions and family centred practice with vulnerable children, young people and families with complex needs
  • Sound knowledge of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and policies relating to child welfare and the Best Interests of the Child Practice Model.
  • Highly developed skills in assessing risks, needs and safety for vulnerable children, young people and families.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, written, verbal and computer skills.

You must have a:

  • Valid and current VIC Driver’s Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check;
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
  • Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles)
