At MacKillop Family Services, every supporter plays a vital role in helping us provide life changing services to those who need them most. As our Fundraising and Supporter Engagement Officer, you'll help strengthen these important relationships by delivering exceptional supporter care, engaging donor experiences, and effective stewardship activities that inspire ongoing support.

Working within the Fundraising and Philanthropy team, and as part of the Community Engagement Unit, you'll contribute to growing MacKillop's impact by supporting fundraising programs, enhancing donor engagement, and helping achieve sustainable revenue growth. In This Role, You'll:

  • Deliver exceptional supporter care through welcome calls, thank you calls, retention activities, and timely responses to supporter enquiries.
  • Support the delivery of donor communications, including newsletters, impact reports, stewardship materials, and campaign updates.
  • Assist with developing and enhancing supporter journeys to strengthen donor engagement, retention, and renewal.
  • Coordinate supporter events and engagement activities that build meaningful relationships with donors and supporters.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and ensure supporter interactions are appropriately documented and actioned.
  • Support the implementation of strategies to grow and strengthen MacKillop's Regular Giving Program.
  • Assist in coordinating fundraising campaigns and supporter retention initiatives, ensuring activities are delivered accurately and on schedule.
  • Monitor and report on key fundraising performance metrics, including retention rates, acquisition rates, and donor lifetime value.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve fundraising processes and supporter experiences.
  • Provide fundraising administration support, including donation processing and assistance with supporter surveys and fundraising projects.

This is a full-time ongoing position reporting to the Fundraising Lead and works closely with colleagues across the Fundraising and Community Engagement teams to deliver outstanding supporter experiences and achieve fundraising goals. This role is based in our Head Office, South Melbourne.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related discipline, or demonstrated experience in fundraising and supporter engagement.
  • Experience in supporter care, donor stewardship, customer service, fundraising, or relationship management.
  • The ability to analyse and report on fundraising performance metrics, including donor retention, acquisition, and lifetime value.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage supporters professionally and compassionately.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate records and data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using databases or CRM systems. Experience with AI tools is desirable.
  • A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and implementing effective solutions.
  • A commitment to the values and mission of MacKillop Family Services.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal cultures, values, and the issues impacting Aboriginal children, young people, and families.
