After-Hours Staffing Facilitator

About the job

As an After-Hours Staffing Facilitator, you’ll play a key role in keeping our residential and youth services supported when the usual working day ends. You’ll coordinate staffing and fill shifts, work closely with teams to solve last-minute challenges, and provide support to residential staff and carers when they need it most. It’s a fast-paced, people-focused role where no two shifts will be exactly the same, so if you’re organised, calm under pressure, a great communicator and enjoy finding solutions while making a difference for young people, this could be the role for you.

This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity based in Preston within our MacKillop National After-Hours Service. The position reports to the coordinator.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A n understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, and the challenges that Aboriginal children, young people and families may experience.
• Experience working in youth services, residential care or a similar community services environment.
• Confidence working with and supporting young people with complex emotional, social or behavioural needs.
• Experience following and supporting behaviour management plans and strategies.
• A good understanding of workplace health and safety and your responsibilities in maintaining a safe workplace.
• Great people skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate with different teams and stakeholders.
• Relevant qualifications in Community Services, Youth Work or a related field

You must have a:

• First Aid Cert (with a minimum 6-month validity)
• Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
• Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
• Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
• Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles). MacKillop can assist successful candidates with their application.
