About the Role:

Excellent opportunity for a Wellbeing Assistant to join our team at Northern Gardens Aged Care on a permanent part time basis, 12 hours per fortnight.

We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate and reliable individuals who are passionate about enhancing the quality of life for older Australian's.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating meaningful social connections, supporting resident wellbeing, and delivering engaging lifestyle and recreational programs within a supportive aged care environment.

The successful candidate will contribute to the planning and delivery of both formal and informal activity programs designed to improve and maintain residents' quality of life while promoting independence, dignity and choice.

Northern Gardens Aged Care has a vibrant and well established Wellbeing team. We are looking for someone who brings prior aged care experience and can confidently hit the ground running from day one. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lifestyle and wellbeing programs
  • Support residents' emotional, social and recreational wellbeing
  • Encourage participation in activities and community engagement
  • Assist with planning and implementing individual and group activities
  • Monitor and document resident participation and responses
  • Work collaboratively within the Lifestyle and Care teams
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional standards
  • Assist with morning and afternoon tea services where required
  • Promote a safe and positive environment for residents, visitors and staff

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certificate III or IV in Leisure & Health (Required)
  • Previous experience working in an aged care facility at least 1 Year (Required)
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of relevant aged care legislation and accreditation standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive, self motivated and adaptable attitude
  • Understanding of documentation and funding requirements in aged care
  • Additional qualifications in dementia, music, art or related areas will be highly regarded

  • Ability to participate in compulsory education and training sessions
