6 Month Fixed Term Contract Available (Staff Leave Coverage)
Opportunities exist for experienced Food Services Assistants to work fixed term contracts to cover staff annual leave - commencing 13 April 2026 to 4 October 2026.
We are seeking enthusiastic, experienced, and team-oriented kitchen/catering professionals with a positive “can-do” attitude to join our friendly team at our Greenwood aged care residence.
About the Role
As a Food Services Assistant, you’ll play an important role in creating a positive dining experience for our residents. Reporting to the Chef Manager, you will assist with the preparation and presentation of meals, ensure food safety standards are met, and contribute to the overall hospitality experience within the home.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and serving high-quality, nutritious meals that meet residents’ dietary and cultural requirements
- Assisting with food orders, menu planning, and maintaining kitchen supplies
- Supervising and supporting a small team of Food Services Assistants
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and OH&S regulations
- Liaising with residents, families, and staff to maintain excellent service standards
- Conducting regular kitchen safety and hygiene audits
About You
You are a highly organised, motivated, and compassionate professional who thrives in a team environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional service. You bring energy, initiative, and a strong commitment to supporting the wellbeing of older Australians.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Friendly and positive attitude
- Passion for working in aged care
- Food Safety Certificate
- Understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
- Competent computer and documentation skills
- Current Police Check
- Seasonal Influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Trade Certificate in Cookery or equivalent
- Certificate II or III in Hospitality
- Minimum 1 year of experience in aged care or healthcare food services
- Knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards, Food Safety, OH&S, and AN-ACC requirements
