Cheltenham Manor Residential Aged Care Home - Proudly a Part of MACG is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef Manager to lead our kitchen and food services team. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality, nutritious meals and exceptional dining experiences within a residential aged care setting.

About the Role
The Chef Manager is a key leadership position reporting to the Home Manager and is responsible for overseeing all kitchen and food service operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, mentoring, and managing the kitchen and food services team
- Preparing and overseeing the delivery of high-quality meals aligned with residents' dietary needs
- Managing specialised diets, supplements, and texture-modified foods
- Menu planning in consultation with residents and clinical teams
- Managing food orders, stock control, and budgets
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and aged care accreditation standards
- Conducting regular audits and maintaining kitchen safety and cleanliness
- Liaising with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, contractors, residents, and families
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and accreditation processes
- Delivering a consistently high-quality dining and hospitality experience
About You
You are an organised, proactive, and approachable leader with strong communication skills and a passion for aged care. You are hands-on, led by example, and can effectively manage people, processes, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
You bring empathy, flexibility, and a commitment to continuous improvement while fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Certificate or Diploma in Commercial Cookery
- Food Safety / Food Hygiene Certificate
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Chef Manager or Senior Chef in an aged care environment
- Proven experience leading and managing kitchen teams
- Strong budget management and food ordering experience
- Excellent organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of aged care legislation, food safety standards, and accreditation requirements
- Computer and documentation skills
- Current Police Check
- Current Influenza Vaccination
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery
- Sound understanding of Aged Care Standards, accreditation, and continuous improvement
- COVID-19 vaccinations and recommended boosters
- Experience working in residential aged care or hospital environments
