Café Assistant

Location: Cheltenham Manor – Proudly a part of MACG

As a Café Assistant, you’ll help create a friendly, relaxed café space where residents, their families, and staff can connect and enjoy quality refreshments. You’ll bring warmth, energy, and a passion for great service to every shift, contributing to the overall wellbeing and lifestyle experience of those in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver warm and attentive customer service to residents, visitors, and staff
• Greet guests, take orders, and handle transactions with professionalism and care
• Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including barista-made coffee and tea
• Assist with light food preparation and food service
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the café, including tables, counters, and equipment
• Support menu updates to reflect resident preferences and dietary needs
• Monitor inventory and restock café supplies as required
• Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations
• Manage cash and EFTPOS transactions accurately and securely
• Engage in friendly conversation with residents – our customers truly appreciate a good chat!

About You:

• Previous experience as a Barista is a plus!
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable multi-tasking between coffee making, food service, and customer engagement
• Background in hospitality or aged care (highly regarded)
• Minimum Food Safety Certificate
• Reliable, professional, and proactive approach to work
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable manner
• Genuine interest in enhancing the daily experience of our residents
• Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
