HSE Advisor

M2P Engineering

Cadia, New South Wales

2:1 FIFO Roster

Project-Based Role | Ongoing Opportunities Across M2P

This isn't a sit-back HSE role.

You'll be on the ground, working alongside crews and operational leaders to support the safe delivery of a major underground mining project. Whether your background is in surface mining, underground mining, heavy industrial construction or Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) projects, we're looking for someone who enjoys being visible on site, building strong relationships and taking a practical, hands-on approach to safety.

You'll have the autonomy to own your space, the backing of a supportive leadership team, and the opportunity to influence how safety is delivered on site.

If you're someone who likes being visible, building trust with crews and making a real difference day-to-day, this is the role for you. We're looking for someone who enjoys being out in the field, building relationships and influencing safe outcomes through practical, hands-on safety leadership.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Being present on site and working closely with crews to keep safety practical and front of mind.
  • Supporting Project Managers, Superintendents and Supervisors with practical HSE advice.
  • Identifying risks early and helping teams manage them before they become issues.
  • Leading field inspections, audits and risk assessments across site.
  • Supporting incident investigations, identifying root causes and ensuring learnings are embedded across the project.
  • Driving a proactive, no-shortcuts safety culture through visible leadership and genuine workforce engagement.

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience as a HSE Advisor within surface mining, underground mining, heavy industrial construction or Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) projects.
  • A solid understanding of WHS legislation, compliance and risk management.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach to safety with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening, and police clearance.

Highly regarded:

  • Experience working on major mining, construction, shutdown or heavy industrial projects.
  • Underground mining experience.
  • ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training.
  • Emergency response and/or incident management experience.
  • Return to Work Coordinator qualification.
