Contract Administrator

Teneriffe | Orange | FIFO 2:1 Roster

M2P Engineering

ENGINEERING. THE WAY IT SHOULD BE. YOUR CAREER. THE WAY IT SHOULD BE.

Want to work on complex construction and mining projects with a crew that gets stuck in and has your back? At M2P, we do engineering differently — and that starts with real people who show up, get it done, and support each other along the way.

We’re on the hunt for a Contract Administrator who knows how to keep things tight, on track, and commercially sound. You’ll play a key role in making sure our contracts run smoothly — from the first draft to the final close-out — all while working alongside a team that treats you like one of their own.

Prefer to work from the city? You can be based at our Teneriffe office in Brisbane. Want to stay closer to site? We’ve got an Orange-based option too. Or if you’re keen to get amongst it, we’re offering FIFO from Brisbane on a 2:1 roster. However you want to work, we’ll make it happen.

Here’s how you’ll make your mark:

  • Manage the full contract lifecycle — from award to final close-out
  • Prepare, review and process payment claims and variations for clients, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Oversee the full payment lifecycle, including high-value and complex claims, ensuring compliance with SOPA and other legislative frameworks
  • Develop and maintain claim templates, FAQs, and training documentation for consistent, high-quality commercial execution
  • Lead training and onboarding for new contract team members, including delivery of handover tools and ongoing mentoring
  • Review and verify claim accuracy, supporting documentation and contract alignment
  • Manage end-to-end PO lifecycle, including forecasting, accruals, reconciliations and reporting dashboards
  • Track commercial KPIs like DSO, aging claims, variation closure and margin impact — using tools like Power BI, IFS or Excel
  • Chair internal stakeholder meetings and drive commercial visibility and accountability across projects
  • Lead variation and change management processes, working with Estimating and Project Controls to align on value and scope
  • Collaborate closely with Procurement, Finance, Legal and Project teams to minimise risk, resolve disputes and manage exposure
  • Own contract registers, amendment tracking, and ensure governance and compliance across all documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement across the contract admin function — from SOPs and training to tool selection and ERP configuration

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Contract admin experience in construction, mining or oil & gas
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, payment schedules, change orders and variations
  • Experience with SOPA compliance (QLD preferred) and a solid grasp of legal obligations under Australian commercial law
  • Confident in end-to-end claim preparation, dispute resolution, root-cause analysis and commercial negotiation
  • Proficiency in IFS, Procore, Aconex, SharePoint or similar ERP/contract management systems
  • Advanced Excel or Power BI skills — pivot tables, dashboards, KPI tracking
  • Ability to align payment claims with project progress, milestone tracking, and contract deliverables
  • Strong commercial judgement, stakeholder management and the ability to present complex contract positions to both internal and external senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing junior contract team members and driving a culture of continuous improvement
  • Skilled in drafting and interpreting formal contractual correspondence, amendments and client-facing documents
  • Familiar with the ins and outs of performance security, bonds, guarantees and retentions
  • Bonus if you’ve led forensic claim reviews or supported dispute resolution with Legal/Insurance teams
