Your opportunity
As our valued HR Advisor, you will play a vital part in providing essential HR support and advice across the business, reporting to the Manager - People Operations and joining a collaborative team of Recruitment, Onboarding, Payroll and Administration personnel.
Based onsite at our head office in Teneriffe, you’ll draw on your understanding of industrial instruments and employment law to provide initial advice and support to employees and managers. Working in our modern office, you’ll enjoy being surrounded by reliable, friendly, hard-working people who have your back and step up for you when you need it most.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Acting as a first point of contact for employee queries regarding HR policies, procedures, payroll and entitlements (e.g., leave, benefits).
- Providing initial advice and information on performance and minor disciplinary matters, escalating more complex issues.
- Assisting with data gathering for workplace investigations.
- Contributing to the development and updating of policies and procedures.
- Reviewing weekly payroll data, checking employment contracts, and assisting with implementing internal processes.
- Drafting HR related documentation.
- Supporting internal performance and remuneration review processes.
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Exposure to and understanding of employment law, the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, and Enterprise Agreements.
- An understanding of payroll processes and the ability to review payroll data.
- The ability to read and interpret industrial instruments.
- Exposure to reviewing employment information and documentation to ensure internal compliance.
- A friendly demeanor, a love for resolving issues, and genuine satisfaction in helping others.
Ideally, you will also have:
- A few years experience in an HR role, such as HR Administration, looking to progress into an HR Advisor position or taking the next step in your HR Advisor career.
- A tertiary education in Human Resources or a related field (not mandatory, but an advantage).
- Experience in the construction, engineering, or mining sector would be an advantage.
