Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our growing team Cape Town

Reporting to the Lead Designer, the Senior Mechanical Designer will work under the direction of senior design staff to produce 3D models and drawings on schedule and on budget.

The tasks you'll perform

• Be proficient in all aspects of 3D MicroStation software (and preferably Aecosim or Triforma) and to use those skills within the Lycopodium defined CAD procedures.
• Be proficient in the detailing of materials handling and mine plant design in their nominated discipline.
• Produce design drawings that are consistent industry standard techniques and that comply to Lycopodium drawing office and CAD procedures.
• Demonstrate an ability to work in a team environment and have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be capable of producing design drawings within the project defined budget hours for the defined deliverable document.
• Demonstrate a sound understanding of fabrication and construction techniques.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development.

The expertise you'll bring

• South African Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Cape Town based
• Proficiency in 3D Microstation software.
• An approved qualification in Engineering Design Drafting or equivalent
• 10+ years experience 5 Discipline Plant Design process plant design.
• English language speaking, reading and writing.
• Proficiency in 3D Triforma or Aecosim Software.
• Working experience with ProjectWise online file storage software.
