Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join our growing Quality and Risk team in Perth, Western Australia.
Reporting to the Quality & Risk Manager, the Quality & Risk Engineer ensures products, services, or construction projects meet quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. They will monitor processes, perform inspections, audit procedures, manage documentation, and implement corrective actions (CAPA) to prevent non-conformances, acting as the liaison between operations and management.
The tasks you'll perform
- Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Conduct inspections of raw materials, in-process production, or finished goods to verify compliance with specifications.
- Perform internal audits, review batch records, and ensure adherence to industry-specific regulations (e.g., HVAC, GMP, API).
- Identify, investigate, and report non-conforming products (NCRs), and manage corrective/preventive actions.
- Liaise with project personnel, subcontractors, and clients to verify quality, and prepare performance reports.
The expertise you'll bring
- Bachelor of Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field/trade qualification.
- Certifications: Quality auditing (ISO 9001), welding inspection, or industry-specific qualifications (e.g., NDT).
- Min 5 years in QA/QC role within mining/mineral processing, construction, or technical environments. (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail, proficiency in reading technical drawings/specifications, excellent report writing, and competence in MS Office and database management. (preferred)
