Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Senior Expeditor to join our growing Project Services team in Mississauga, Ontario. 

Reporting to the Procurement & Contracts Manager the Senior Expeditor will ensure the timely delivery of equipment, materials, and services critical to the success of mining projects. This role requires proactive coordination with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to mitigate delays, resolve issues, and maintain the project schedule. 

The tasks you'll perform

Expediting Deliverables: 

  • Monitor and track procurement activities to ensure timely delivery of equipment, materials, and documentation. 
  • Follow up with vendors and suppliers on production progress, shipment schedules, and outstanding items. 
  • Identify potential delays and implement mitigation strategies. 

Vendor Management: 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. 
  • Conduct regular progress reviews with vendors to assess their performance and compliance with project timelines. 
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve discrepancies or bottlenecks promptly. 

Project Coordination: 

  • Coordinate closely with procurement, logistics, engineering, and construction teams to align material delivery with project schedules. 
  • Ensure vendor documentation is submitted and approved as per requirements. 
  • Manage change orders or variations in delivery timelines due to project adjustments. 

Logistics Oversight: 

  • Work with logistics teams to track shipments, ensure proper handling, and resolve transportation issues. 
  • Verify shipping documentation, customs clearance, and on-site delivery compliance. 

Reporting & Communication: 

  • Prepare and distribute expediting reports, including status updates, potential risks, and mitigation plans. 
  • Maintain detailed records of all interactions, communications, and agreements with vendors. 
  • Escalate unresolved issues to management as required. 

Compliance & Best Practices: 

  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, contractual obligations, and project specifications. 
  • Promote continuous improvement in expediting processes and vendor performance. 

The expertise you'll bring 

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.  
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in expediting, procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably in the mining, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sectors. 
  • Proven track record in project-based expediting, including vendor management and logistics coordination. 
  • Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain processes in large-scale mining projects. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proficient in project management tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Primavera). 
  • Ability to analyze and mitigate risks effectively. 
  • Familiarity with international shipping, incoterms, and customs regulations.

The expected salary range for this role is $65,000 to $75,000.  This range is based on the role’s job family and level and reflects a good faith estimate for the role at the time of posting.  Your final offer will depend on factors such as market conditions, internal equity and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.  We believe in fair, competitive pay that reflects the value you bring to the team.
