About the role:

We currently have an exciting new opportunity for an outstanding health professional to join us in the role of Health Consultant/Registered Nurse. In this supported autonomous role, you will be delivering first aid training and health screening services across the Wellington region. You will be working a guaranteed minimum of 80 hours per fortnight Monday to Friday, with twice monthly Saturday work and some overtime as required.

Our team is made up of Health professionals from various disciplines: Nutritionists, Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Acupuncturists, Exercise Physiologists, ex-Paramedics, Dentists, etc.

Key responsibilities:

The delivery of the following services either at our client worksites or at our Life Care venue in Lower Hutt, Wellington:

  • Undertaking health education one to one, and in a group setting including the delivery of First Aid and CPR courses and other programmes
  • Undertaking health monitoring and pre-employment medical testing including drug testing
  • Delivering influenza vaccinations
  • Data entry and other general administration
  • Cleaning equipment

The role requires travel to worksites across the Wellington region, or outside the region when providing cover to other regions, and therefore there is requirement to occasionally stay overnight. Accommodation and a generous meal allowance is provided if overnight travel is required.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Be registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ)
  • A current clean Full New Zealand Driver Licence
  • Ability to pass a New Zealand Police Vetting check
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Strong verbal English skills as this role has a significant component of classroom teaching
