  • Must love to travel and enjoy facilitating training in a group setting and undertaking 1to1 health screening
  • Either part time (64 hours per fortnight min.) or full time (80 hours a fortnight min.)

Kick-start your occupational health career! Deliver first aid training, provide health screening across the Canterbury region, and thrive in a fun, supportive team making a real impact.

About the role:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an outstanding health professional to join us as an Occupational Health Technician, and either begin or continue your career in occupational health.

In this supported yet autonomous role, you’ll be delivering first aid training courses and health screening services across the Canterbury region, and occasionally beyond.

The role offers flexibility of either 64 or 80 hours per fortnight, and we are happy to discuss this with the right candidate.

You don’t need to have occupational health experience — we provide comprehensive paid training. However, you must have a health-related degree (e.g. Health Science, Paramedicine, Sports Science), and we welcome applications from new graduates.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver first aid training courses in a group setting
  • Conduct occupational health screening services (pre-employment, annual health checks, drug and alcohol testing)
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external processes
  • Complete accurate data entry (must be tech-savvy)
  • Travel to worksites across the region (and occasionally further), including the occasional overnight stay

The successful candidate will have:

  • The right to work in New Zealand (no visa sponsorship available)
  • A current New Zealand Driver’s Licence
  • A tertiary qualification in health, sport, or exercise
  • A genuine passion for people and preventative healthcare
  • The ability to deliver engaging and interactive health education
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work at pace
  • Confidence with technology, as we are highly digital
  • Flexibility to do early starts, late finishes, occasional overnight travel, and the odd Saturday

Benefits:

  • High job satisfaction in a meaningful role
  • Overtime paid at time and a half after 80 hours per fortnight
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), staff discounts, and annual wellness benefit
  • Company vehicle for work and commuting
  • Mobile phone and laptop/tablet provided
  • A positive, supportive, and fun team environment where people are encouraged to grow and thrive

You’ll be part of a friendly, high-performing culture that genuinely values its people and supports their development.
