At Launceston Airport, we’re proud of our vibrant, dynamic team that keeps our operations running smoothly and safely every day. We’re currently on the lookout for a dedicated Maintenance Officer to join our Civil & Infrastructure Maintenance Team.
This role is vital to ensuring the ongoing safety, functionality, and presentation of our airport facilities, from runways and taxiways through to terminals, hangars, gardens, and roads. Working across a diverse range of tasks and settings, you'll play an essential part in maintaining our airport to the highest standard.
About the Role:
As a Maintenance Officer, you’ll:
- Operate a variety of plant and equipment to maintain airside and landside areas, including grounds, pavements, drainage, fencing, infrastructure and facilities.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on buildings, runways, taxiways, aprons, and road networks.
- Support compliance activities to maintain a safe and secure environment across the airport.
- Work closely with teams across Civil & Infrastructure, Electrical & Mechanical, Compliance, and Airport Operations, embracing a collaborative, all-in team culture.
- Respond to operational needs including unplanned events, emergencies, and weather-related issues.
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience in building asset maintenance and/or civil construction (advantageous).
- Ability to operate and maintain groundskeeping and construction equipment.
- Comfortable working outdoors across varying weather conditions.
- A strong focus on safety, teamwork, and proactive problem solving.
Preferred qualifications (or willingness to obtain):
- MR (Medium Rigid) Drivers Licence
- ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)
- Airside Driver’s Authority (ADA) Level 3
- Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC)
- Work Safety Officer (WSO) training
- Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) training
- ChemCert certification
