Our staff receive great employee benefits highlighted below, but this role will also provide a healthy balance between your work and personal life through a set working schedule/hours each day i.e Monday to Friday 07.30am – 4.00pm. Our Electricians also receive an additional rostered day off each month.

In this role, you will be responsible for the provision of electrical support to the Electrical and Mechanical department to affect the implementation, installation, maintenance, diagnoses, service and repair of Airfield Lighting, Electrical Supply Infra-structure (LV &HV), Power Generation, Terminal facility, supportive systems and other critical airport technical assets.

Key responsibilities:

The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Apply the full range of skills and competencies associated with an A-Grade electrical license
  • Undertake allocated planned and unplanned works in a timely and safe manner with minimal disruption to airport services with limited supervision
  • Perform installation, maintenance, fault finding and repair tasks upon Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) systems, po\wer generation equipment and power reticulation network infra-structure, boiler and boiler control systems, water reticulation systems, Sewerage pumping stations and control systems.
  • Maintain industrial and commercial control systems including BMS, PLC and SCADA based systems
  • Service and maintain HVAC systems
  • Undertake the installation, maintenance and isolation of low voltage reticulation systems
  • Terminate/reinstate data cabling
  • Isolation and maintenance of HV network assets
  • Design and construction of basic industrial/commercial control systems
  • Maintenance of car parking system infrastructure
  • Experience with infield or mobile asset management and WHS systems
  • Proven ability to work both individually and within a team-based environment and to exercise role autonomy within own capability and designated work scope, escalating matters as required.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tasmanian A-Grade Electrical Licence (or equivalent inter-state licence that will be recognised through the National Mutual Recognition Database)
  • Open Cabling Licence
  • High-Risk Work License with WP endorsement (Boom Type EWP) (desirable/willingness to obtain)
  • Working at Heights training (or willingness to attain)
  • Confined Space training (or willingness to attain)
  • Industrial White Card (or wilingness to attain)
  • Instrumentation qualifications (desirable but not a mandatory requirement)
  • Engineering Diploma or equivalent highly regarded
  • Practical experience in the following/or willing to learn:
  • HV and LV network switching and maintenance
  • Power generation system servicing and maintenance
  • Performance of maintenance and serviceability inspections upon Airfield Ground Lighting systems
  • (desirable)
  • Service and maintenance of HVAC and systems
  • Exposure to the maintenance of industrial and/or commercial control systems
  • BMS & PLC based control systems
  • Fire detection and suppression system maintenance and servicing (desirable)
  • Boiler and boiler control management systems (desirable)
