We currently have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Corporate Affairs Manager to join our Office of the CEO team at Launceston Airport.

This is a highly visible and impactful role, working closely with the CEO and leadership team to shape how the airport engages with government, media, stakeholders and the broader community. You will play a pivotal role in strengthening Launceston Airport’s reputation, driving strategic communications, and influencing key external relationships.

Key responsibilities:

The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead government relations, media engagement and stakeholder strategy to support organisational priorities
  • Develop and execute corporate communications strategies, including internal and external messaging
  • Provide strategic advice to the CEO and leadership team on reputational, regulatory and stakeholder matters
  • Manage media relations, including acting as the primary point of contact for media enquiries
  • Monitor and respond to emerging policy, regulatory and industry issues
  • Develop high-quality briefings, submissions, speeches and communications content
  • Lead crisis and issues management communications to protect and enhance the airport’s reputation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across government, industry, media and community stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal teams and Melbourne Airport colleagues to ensure aligned messaging and positioning

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in corporate affairs, communications, media or public policy
  • Strong background in government relations, stakeholder engagement or advocacy
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear messaging
  • Experience working in complex, regulated or fast-paced environments
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trusted relationships across diverse groups
  • Strong understanding of media, political and regulatory landscapes
  • Experience in crisis communications and issues management (highly regarded)
  • A proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to balance big-picture thinking and hands-on delivery
