Launceston Airport is seeking a Security & Terminal Manager to lead landside and terminal operations, with accountability across security, customer experience, emergency management and operational performance. This is a critical leadership role supporting the safe, compliant and efficient running of the airport while delivering a positive passenger experience.

Working closely with the Head of Airport Operations, Airfield team and key stakeholders, you will lead security compliance, manage operational performance, and ensure effective coordination across airlines, regulators and contractors in a live operational environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead terminal and landside operations, ensuring safe, efficient and customer-focused outcomes
  • Oversee aviation security compliance, including regulatory requirements and security programs
  • Manage key security and terminal contracts, ensuring performance, compliance and value
  • Coordinate incident response, emergency management and business continuity planning
  • Work closely with airlines, ground handlers and regulators to support operational performance
  • Drive continuous improvement across security, terminal operations and customer experience 

The successful candidate will have:

Essential

  • Experience in airport operations, aviation security or a regulated operational environment
  • Strong understanding of compliance, risk and safety frameworks
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage stakeholders in a complex environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and drive outcomes
  • Experience managing contractors and operational performance
  • A focus on delivering both operational excellence and customer experience.
