National Payroll & Compliance Manager

Location: Smeaton Grange, NSW

Own the payroll function. Drive compliance.

LaserBond is seeking a senior Payroll & Compliance Manager to take full ownership of end-to-end payroll and statutory compliance across a multi-site operational business.

This is a hands-on role for a technically strong payroll professional who values accuracy, accountability, and meeting immovable deadlines.

ABOUT LASERBOND

Founded in 1992, LaserBond has been at the forefront of surface engineering innovation in Australia. With a strong commitment to research, development, and the practical application of advanced manufacturing technologies, we help our industrial clients significantly reduce wear, extend the service life of critical components, and lower maintenance and operational costs. Our work plays a crucial role in ensuring the long-term efficiency and sustainability of production systems across a wide range of industries. LaserBond continues to grow nationwide, with facilities in NSW, QLD, SA, VIC & WA.

THE ROLE

Reporting to Finance and working closely with HR and operational leaders, you will be accountable for payroll accuracy, statutory compliance, and governance across the business.

You will operate in a complex, multi-site environment requiring sound judgement, strong systems thinking, and the confidence to challenge when something doesn’t look right.

THE ROLE

• End-to-end payroll processing across the organisation

• BAS, PAYG, superannuation and ATO compliance

• Oversight of Time & Attendance processes

• Workers’ compensation wage declarations

• Payroll master data, controls, and approvals

• Audit-ready records and compliance documentation

• Continuous improvement of payroll systems and processes

ABOUT YOU

• Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll in a medium to large organisation

• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, superannuation and ATO requirements

• Experience with BAS, PAYG and statutory submissions

• Experience in multi-site or operational environments

• Strong Excel, payroll system and HRIS capability

• Able to interpret awards and employment contracts

• Comfortable owning outcomes and holding the line on compliance

WHY JOIN LASERBOND

This is a role for a senior payroll professional who wants genuine ownership, not constant oversight.

You will have clear accountability, the authority to set standards, and the backing of Finance and HR to run the payroll function properly — in a stable, growing Australian business where compliance matters and good work is recognised.

LaserBond offers a supportive and inclusive working environment, along with a competitive salary and benefits, including an employee share scheme.
