Are you a commercially driven business development professional with experience in energy, steel, oil and gas, or heavy industry?

LaserBond is looking for a Business Development Manager – Energy, Steel, Oil & Gas to grow our presence across these key industrial sectors.

This is an opportunity to win new business, develop strategic customer relationships and turn technically complex opportunities into profitable, long-term partnerships. You'll work with major asset owners, OEMs, service providers and internal technical specialists to deliver solutions that improve equipment reliability, protect critical components and extend service life.

The opportunity

You'll identify new markets, grow strategic accounts and lead major opportunities from initial engagement through technical qualification and commercial agreement to repeat business.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Business development: Win new customers and develop opportunities across energy generation, steel manufacturing, oil and gas.
  • Strategic accounts: Build relationships with senior decision-makers and grow business across customer sites, applications and equipment fleets.
  • Technical solutions: Develop opportunities in wear and corrosion protection, thermal protection and component repair and remanufacturing.
  • Commercial growth: Build compelling customer value propositions, negotiate agreements and deliver sustainable revenue and gross margin.
  • Industry partnerships: Strengthen relationships with asset owners, steel producers, oilfield service businesses, OEMs and engineering contractors.

Working closely with LaserBond's commercial, engineering and operations teams, you'll turn customer challenges into practical solutions and repeatable business opportunities.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who combines commercial drive with credibility in technically demanding industrial markets.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven business development, strategic account or commercial sales experience in energy, steel, oil and gas, or related heavy industry.
  • A track record of winning complex opportunities and growing major or multi-site customers.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage executive, engineering, maintenance, reliability and procurement stakeholders.
  • An understanding of asset reliability, wear, corrosion, thermal exposure and rotating equipment applications.
  • Commercial acumen, including pricing, margin management and customer value development.
  • Strong planning, forecasting and CRM skills, with a willingness to travel regularly across Australia.

Existing industry relationships and experience with OEMs, laser cladding, thermal spray, surface engineering or component remanufacturing will be advantageous. Technical, trade, engineering or business qualifications are also welcome.

Why join LaserBond?

Join a business operating at the intersection of engineering, industrial technology and commercial growth.

You'll have the opportunity to develop important customer partnerships, pursue significant commercial opportunities and work alongside specialist teams to solve real industrial challenges.

If you enjoy building relationships, winning business and taking ownership of commercial outcomes, this role offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference.
