About the Role

LaserBond is strengthening its safety and quality discipline. We are seeking a Safety & Quality Assurance Officer to join our central People, Safety & Quality (PSQ) function, embedded within our Cavan workshop.

This is an independent assurance role. You will work closely with supervisors and teams on the shop floor. Your role is to verify, challenge, investigate and escalate safety and quality risks.

You will be hands-on and visible in the workshop, intervening early to prevent injuries, incidents and quality failures. When issues occur, you will lead investigations and ensure corrective actions are effective.

Key Responsibilities

Assurance & Investigation

• Lead investigations into injuries, serious near misses and quality non-conformances
• Conduct root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, ICAM or similar)
• Prepare investigation reports and lessons-learned communications
• Verify corrective and preventative actions
• Escalate recurring or systemic risks

Audits & Compliance

• Conduct safety and quality audits and inspections
• Verify compliance with WHS procedures, SOPs and quality standards
• Maintain hazard, incident and corrective action registers
• Support internal, external and customer audits

 Operational Partnering

• Work alongside managers, supervisors and workshop teams
• Coach leaders on hazard identification and investigations
• Support correct application of procedures and customer reporting
• Identify risks and intervene early

Escalation & Risk Management

• Escalate unacceptable safety and quality risks
• Recommend stop-work or quality holds where required
• Elevate unresolved risks to senior leadership

About You

Essential

• Experience in safety, quality or assurance roles
• Strong investigation and root cause analysis capability
• Working knowledge of WHS legislation and quality principles
• Confidence to challenge and hold boundaries
• Strong communication skills

Desirable

• Cert IV WHS (or equivalent)
• Internal auditing experience (ISO 9001 / ISO 45001)
• Exposure to lean, CI or 5S
