About Us:

We’re L’affare. The coffee business. Ever since 1990. We were born out of a love for espresso, in Wellington at our café and HQ. 30 years later, we’re still there on College Street. Our Auckland team is currently based in Kingsland, in the process of developing our new homebase.

Our people make us who we are today. We’re a mixed bunch of creative, industrious, adventurous humans, all with a great love for serving NZ the freshest and best coffee possible.

The role:

We are looking for a Workshop Technician to join our Auckland workshop. Your role will involve maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing machines for both our commercial fleet and extensive list of domestic customers. As importers and distributors of Wega, Rocket, and Mazzer equipment across New Zealand we need to be experts in our range of equipment.

You'll engage with customers and working through a variety of technical challenges while your role is on preventative maintenance, there's equally the opportunity for fault finding and repairs too.

Who are we looking for?

An individual with a strong commitment to on-the-job learning, adept critical thinking skills, a continuous improvement mindset and someone with a solid understanding of electrical and/or plumbing fundamentals. Equally, were looking for demonstrated attention to detail and accountability in a technical setting. While prior experience in a technical role within the coffee industry is preferred, we are committed to providing industry applicable training for candidates who may come from other industries who hold a minimum of an Electrical Appliance Serviceperson qualification.

Why L’affare?

Joining us means immersing yourself in the world of coffee, leveraging exciting learning opportunities across our Australia and New Zealand UCC business. Our commitment to your growth includes mentorship, career development, coffee, and a focus on your wellbeing, offering "recharge leave" which is five additional days annually to recharge in your preferred way.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday. You will also be required to be on a call out roster – approximately one weekend every five weeks, which will be paid as an on-call allowance.
