About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Pre-Admission Nurse to join the perioperative team at KDHS. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting perioperative assessments for patients undergoing planned surgical procedures.
The Pre-Admission Nurse will liaise with Surgeons, VMOs, anaesthetists, GPs, admin team, patients, and their families via email, phone, or in person. Key responsibilities include collecting patient health histories, providing education, and offering support and guidance to help patients prepare for surgery and recovery. You will also liaise with the Perioperative team to assist with theatre list schedules, ASA readiness and management of waitlists.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be registered with AHPRA
- Have recent relevant clinical experience
- Demonstrate well-developed clinical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Have excellent time management and organisational abilities
- Be competent in computer use, including patient management systems
An understanding of ESIS and planned surgery access pathways will be highly regarded.
