About the Role

The Communications Officer is a ‘hands-on’ role, supporting the delivery of internal and external communication and engagement activities. The role provides event planning and coordination, producing communications and marketing material. The role will manage social media and online platforms.

The role is responsible for:

· Provide administrative support to the CEO, Executive team and Board in designing and coordinating fundraising and activities, including relevant grant applications. This includes responding to and following up bequests and donation opportunities, selecting and maintaining contact with prospects, including developing and nurturing relationships with Philanthropic Trusts and Foundations and educating staff and the wider community.

· Manage fundraising and special organisational events, including special functions, major events, official openings and Annual General Meeting including the planning, organisation, logistics and event support.

· Write, edit and proofread content for promotional materials, press releases, articles, social media and other communication materials for CEO endorsement.

· Handle media enquiries, managing media briefings and developing relationships with press correspondents.

· Manage, administer and create the content for the KDHS website, intranet platform and other social media platforms and ensure it is accurate and up to date in conjunction with the relevant departments.

· Translate complex information into clear and simple concepts.

· Ensure KDHS style guide is utilized throughout the health service and systems and processes are in place for all branding and marketing, including assisting all staff to maintain branding integrity of the organisation.

· Assist in the development and delivery of KDHS Communications Plan.

· Undertake other duties as required by the Quality, Education and Risk Manager that are within the scope and skill consistent with the position.

About You

· Superior knowledge and experience in the use of MS Office, visual and written content for social, digital and print media

· Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills

· Outstanding organisational and planning abilities, with high attention to detail

· Able to manage competing priorities and timelines often using sensitive information.

· Capacity to work independently, however the ability to lead internal and external stakeholders  to deliver initiatives

· Demonstrated commitment to provide superior levels of customer service

· A degree in Communication, marketing or like qualifications

· Familiarity with content management systems, publishing and design software platforms

· Experience in event coordination and fundraising
