Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS) is a medium-sized rural health service that delivers a range of programs and services including acute, subacute, residential aged care and allied and primary health care services. KDHS has three campuses located in the townships of Kyabram, Stanhope and Tongala.
KDHS is a passionate inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity. We are a culturally diverse organisation with a wide variety of people from different races, cultures, age, gender, ethnicity, physical ability, sexual orientation, religious belief, work experience and education background. We believe diversity drives innovation and we will continue to build and nurture a culture where inclusiveness is a reflex and where there is a deep sense of pride, passion and belonging that transcends any role.
About the Role
The After-hours Primary Care Services Receptionist role will have a pivotal role in working closely with our GP’s and Practice Nurses assisting with all administrative tasks. Murray Primary Health Network (MPHN) conducted an After-Hours Health Needs Assessment for the MPHN region in 2023 which identified gaps in after-hours primary care services. The Campaspe local government area was identified as an area of disadvantage with limited access and hence, KDHS has been selected to lead a short-term project to enable After-Hours Primary Health Care Programs within General Practice under the MPHN’s Commonwealth General Practice Investment Strategy funding. The aim of the After Hours Primary Care service is to strengthen the health system in supporting consumers in the Campase region to have timely access to urgent but non-life-threatening primary care services, and reduce risk to the community member Page 1 of 6 for potential deterioration. It is anticipated this initiative will also reduce demand on Urgent Care Centres/Emergency Departments
