Overview

Key Responsibilities will include:

•  Overall care of patients during their stay, inclusive of Medical Oncology Clinic and Oncology Day Unit (as relevant)
• Provide safe administration of antineoplastic drugs and other related therapies, medications and blood products
• Liaison with Medical Oncologists, General Practitioners, Pathology and Medical Imaging providers, Allied Health and Specialist Nursing staff for patient care and ongoing management
• Provide safe care and management of Central Venous Access Devices (CVAD)
• Undertake supportive care screening and assessment of patient and family needs, and facilitate appropriate referrals

Desirable Skills/Qualifications for Cancer Services

• Completion of eviQ Antineoplastic Drug Administration Course
• Peter MacCallum chemotherapy Module 1 or equivalent
• Advanced Life Support Certificate
• IV Cannulation & Central Venous Access Device (CVAD) competency

Previous experience within a similar role and/or completion of chemotherapy nursing course will be highly regarded.
