Overview
Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS) is a medium-sized rural health service that delivers a range of programs and services including acute, subacute, residential aged care and allied and primary health care services. Key Responsibilities will include:
- Overall care of patients during their stay, inclusive of Medical Oncology Clinic and Oncology Day Unit (as relevant)
- Provide safe administration of antineoplastic drugs and other related therapies, medications and blood products
- Liaison with Medical Oncologists, General Practitioners, Pathology and Medical Imaging providers, Allied Health and Specialist Nursing staff for patient care and ongoing management
- Provide safe care and management of Central Venous Access Devices (CVAD)
- Undertake supportive care screening and assessment of patient and family needs, and facilitate appropriate referrals
Desirable Skills/Qualifications for Cancer Services
- Completion of eviQ Antineoplastic Drug Administration Course
- Peter MacCallum chemotherapy Module 1 or equivalent
- Advanced Life Support Certificate
- IV Cannulation & Central Venous Access Device (CVAD) competency
Previous experience within a similar role and/or completion of chemotherapy nursing course will be highly regarded.
