The Opportunity:

Are you a skilled and motivated Diesel Fitter looking for an exciting opportunity in the mining industry? Komatsu are seeking multiples Diesel Fitters to join our team at Rolleston Coal Mine and contribute to the efficient maintenance of sites equipment as a Rostered Diesel Fitter. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our customer’s fleet of heavy diesel equipment across all makes and models at Glencore Rolleston.

Roster: 7 & 7 day and night shift

Role Located: Rolleston Coal Mine

What we are looking for:

  • Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in maintaining and repairing heavy diesel equipment, preferably in a mining or heavy industry setting.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work on a 7 & 7 roster, including day and night shifts.
  • High level of attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a variety of heavy diesel equipment including trucks, loaders, and excavators.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure minimal downtime of equipment.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to extend the lifespan of machinery.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to address urgent breakdowns and ensure swift repairs.
  • Accurately record work performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules in the maintenance management system.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety excellence.
  • Actively participate in training and skill development programs to stay current with industry best practices.
