PEM Estimator

We are currently seeking a Project Estimator for our Project Estimation Team. This position is a key role within Komatsu and is responsible for the estimating and quoting of work. Operating broadly across Komatsu (Australia), the position will have regular interaction with engineering, sales, operations and supply functions and will provide key leadership to ensure good business practices are adhered to.  


Reporting to the Manager, Project Estimation, key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  •  Following process and utilizing SAP transactions to facilitate daily interactions
  • Liaison with customers, contractors and Komatsu employees to ensure project variations are captured
  • Involvement in the development and continuous improvement of Machine Rebuild Models
  • Ensuring SAP machine specific cost models are complete prior to estimating
  • Monitoring and reporting progress and status of projects to management and customers
  • Ensuring all design and engineering activity is completed prior to quote and release
  • Administering contract variations to achieve a successful project
  • Producing and communicating project plan to appropriate operations and sales personnel 


Key skills and attributes required for this role:

  •  Trade certification in Electrical or Mechanical fields
  • A keen eye for detail, together with effective and efficient organizational skills are essential.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of quote preparation and presentation methods
  • Excellent PC skills including understanding of windows based computing
  • Solid understanding of SAP
  • Understanding of safety standards and a commitment to safe work practices
  • Experience in an industry of an OEM or mine site is valued
