Komatsu is currently seeking an exceptional Longwall Controls & Automation Project Engineer to join our team in Wollongong, Moss Vale, Rutherford or Rockhampton.
The main focus of this role will include:
Manage the delivery of Controls and Automation projects to mine site operation, including software and hardware availability, installation, commissioning, documentation, training and field resource requirements
Develop and facilitate Flawless Start-up plans, standardize equipment and system commissioning plans
Develop and facilitate mining system performance ramp up plans
Manage the receipt of customer automation queries and complaints
Provide advanced technical and application support to investigate field issues
Provide guidance for machine assemblies to ensure assembly and installation of optional equipment is done in accordance with sound factory guidelines
Manage the completion of Customer Retrofit Improvement Safety Programs (CRISP)
Provide recommendations to the Sales and Marketing teams in preparation of engineering specifications for OE sales opportunities
Minimum requirements for the role:
Trade or Engineering qualification in electrical or automation discipline
5+ years of experience in longwall mining or automation with an emphasis on field application
Exposure to mining systems and applications
The successful candidate would ideally have:
Working knowledge of longwall mining system planning and operations at a mine site
Intimate knowledge of field engineering problem identification and resolution processes
Detailed knowledge of appropriate Australian Standard, Mines Department regulations and Hazardous Area standards
Demonstrated ability to self-manage and take responsibility for undertaking a remotely supervised role
Project management and ability to conceptualize and plan a scope of work
Demonstrated customer management experience and skills, contractual awareness
