Komatsu Forklift Australia promote, sell, hire and service the full range Komatsu, BP Ferrari and Carer forklifts, from 1.8 tonne through to 52 tonne container handlers with niche products also available to ensure that we have the right solution for our customer's needs.

The Opportunity: With the support of our existing management team, The National Finance Manager will oversee financial management, compliance, and strategic planning while also managing day-to-day bookkeeping and cash flow oversight to ensure financial stability.

The Role:

  • Financial Management: Oversee the full financial function of the business, including cash flow management, budgeting and internal financial reporting.
  • General Ledger & Reporting: Own the general ledger and manage reporting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial data. Generate financial & operational reports.
  • Managing and navigating ambiguity: Gather information and context from stakeholders, simplify the insights, provide accurate business performance updates and develop recommendations to overcome market and business volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity.
  • Internal & External Reporting: Oversee internal financial reporting while partnering with external stakeholders to ensure compliance with tax, regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
  • Financial Strategy & Insights: Provide strategic insights to directors to drive profitability, inform key decisions about growth opportunities and the ongoing financial health.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Assess and manage financial risks, including insurance, contracts and company assets.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor the accounts team ensuring high standards of accuracy and efficiency in day-to-day bookkeeping, cash flow management and financial reconciliation.
  • Deliver value: Continuously evaluate opportunities for enhancement of systems and process capabilities to maximise effectiveness and ensure seamless accurate reporting rhythm.
  • Decision Support: Manage ongoing analytics requirements for Leadership teams. Build strong networks with the sales and operational teams, empower and improve financial capability among non-finance members to drive continuous improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement system and process improvements to enhance financial operations and overall business efficiency.
  • Accounts Management: Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reconciliations to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Financial Controls: Establish robust financial controls to maintain strong oversight of financial transactions.
  • Monthly & Annual Closings: Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes to ensure accurate reporting and timely submission of financial documents.

The Candidate:

  • 5+ years (post qualification) financial management experience, ideally within Earthmoving, Machinery, or a related industry.
  • CPA or CA qualification preferred.
  • Strong experience with bookkeeping, payroll, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Proven ability to provide high-level strategic advice while being hands-on with day-to-day finance tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing financial controls and improving financial efficiency.
  • High proficiency in financial software and accounting systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
