We’re seeking an organised and analytical Inventory & Cost Accountant to join our Finance team and help ensure that every piece of chocolate is accounted for, costed accurately and aligned with our commitment to excellence.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Business Partner – Supply Chain, you’ll manage the costing structures for our handcrafted products and support accurate inventory valuation across our manufacturing and retail operations. This role works closely with the Supply Chain, Production, and Warehouse teams, providing insights and analysis that help drive operational decision-making and financial performance.
You’ll play a key role in standard costing, BOM maintenance, variance analysis, stock reconciliations, and continuous improvements to systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the standard costing model for all manufactured products
- Monitor and analyse variances between standard and actual costs, providing clear commentary
- Own and maintain BOM Master Data within Netsuite, ensuring accuracy and updates
- Conduct regular cost roll-ups and validate material, labour, and overhead rates
- Partner with Production and Procurement to verify BOMs and costing assumptions
- Assist with inventory valuation for WIP, finished goods, and raw materials
- Perform stock reconciliations and investigate any variances with supply chain and warehouse teams
- Support monthly reporting, forecasting, and budgeting for COGS and inventory
- Lead or contribute to system improvements and cross-functional projects
- Support compliance with accounting standards and internal financial controls
- Prepare audit-ready schedules and reconciliations for inventory and costing
What You’ll Bring
- Proven Experience in product costing, inventory accounting or management accounting (FMCG or manufacturing preferred)
- Strong understanding of standard costing, BOMs, and cost variance analysis
- Confidence working with ERP systems (Netsuite experience is highly regarded)
- Solid Excel skills and a keen eye for data accuracy and reporting
- Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative to streamline processes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally
