KJR is seeking a Test Lead to oversee end-to-end testing for the UKG Pro Workforce Management (WFM) program, leading key phases while working with business stakeholders, technical teams, and the UKG partner to ensure the solution performs as expected.

Key Responsibilities
Test Strategy, Governance & Frameworks
- Develop and maintain the UKG test strategy, including phase approach, entry/exit criteria and release governance.
- Lead the development and maintenance of testing standards, templates and frameworks aligned to DTI delivery practices.
- Ensure alignment of test cases and scripts to:
- Approved requirements
- Configuration decisions
- Integration designs
- Architecture and solution design documentation
- Contribute to change and release management processes to ensure controlled promotion across environments.
- Lead test closure activities including:
- Test completion criteria validation
- Test summary reporting
- Formal sign-off recommendations
- Establish governance for test data management and environment readiness.
Test Planning & Execution Leadership
- Lead detailed test planning including:
- Resource planning and estimation
- Test scheduling aligned to payroll calendars
- Risk-based prioritisation of critical scenarios
- Coordinate across business, DTI technical teams, integration teams, UKG vendor and any external testing providers.
- Oversee development of comprehensive end-to-end scenarios across:
- Time capture (clocks, mobile, web)
- Rostering and scheduling
- Awards interpretation and pay rules
- Leave accruals and adjustments
- Payroll interface and reconciliation
- Identity and downstream integrations
- Lead Payroll Parallel test cycles including reconciliation and variance analysis.
- Manage external testing phases including UAT and Non-Functional testing where applicable.
Defect, Risk & Quality Management
- Lead defect triage forums and prioritisation with business and vendor stakeholders.
- Identify systemic risk themes (particularly payroll and compliance exposure).
- Develop and track mitigation strategies for risks impacting testing delivery.
- Provide structured reporting on:
- Test coverage
- Defect trends
- Environment readiness
- Go-live risk position
- Review test execution outcomes and identify opportunities for automation and process optimisation where appropriate.
Knowledge, Capability & Continuous Improvement
- Lead development of the DTI testing knowledge repository for the UKG program, including reusable artefacts and standards.
- Mentor business testers and technical contributors on testing standards and tool usage.
- Support onboarding and capability uplift of testing resources where required.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities in testing practices and tools.
- Contribute subject matter expertise in workforce systems testing to governance forums and working groups.
For UKG specifically, this includes deep understanding of:
- Awards interpretation logic
- Compliance impacts of configuration decisions
- Payroll downstream dependencies
- Integration sequencing and data reconciliation controls
Professional Judgement & Leadership
- Operate with significant independence within agreed program governance.
- Exercise judgement in balancing test completeness with delivery timelines.
- Investigate and resolve complex testing issues that may not be governed by established procedures.
- Lead cross-functional workshops to clarify scope, validate scenarios and resolve ambiguity.
- Provide clear recommendations to program leadership regarding readiness to progress between phases or to Go-Live.
Qualifications
Essential
· Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, IT or management
· Relevant experience as a Test Lead or Test Manager
· Exposure to Time & Attendance, Payroll, HRIS processes and systems, specifically Kronos or UKG Pro
Desirable
· Prior experience in the Health Industry
· ISTQB Certification – Advanced Level
· Demonstrated success in achieving change and business efficiency improvement outcomes
