KJR is seeking a Senior Test Analyst to design and execute testing for the UKG Workforce Management implementation. Working under the Test Lead, the role involves developing test scenarios, managing defects, supporting payroll validation, and collaborating with HR, Payroll, Operations and technical teams to ensure system configuration, integrations, and pay rules operate as intended.

Key Responsibilities
Test Design & Documentation
- Develop detailed test cases and end-to-end scenarios aligned to:
- Approved requirements
- Configuration decisions
- Integration design specifications
- Solution architecture documentation
- Contribute to test script frameworks and maintain traceability within agreed test management tools.
- Ensure test coverage across:
- Time capture (clocks, mobile, web)
- Rostering and scheduling
- Awards interpretation and pay rules
- Leave accruals and adjustments
- Payroll interface and reconciliation
- Identity and downstream integrations
- Support maintenance of test data standards and environment readiness controls.
- In a UKG context, this includes validating not just “does it work?” but “does it calculate correctly under real-world award scenarios?”
Test Execution & Defect Management
- Execute SIT, Payroll Parallel and UAT scenarios in line with approved test plans.
- Record and manage defects within agreed tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jira or equivalent).
- Provide detailed defect evidence including:
- Replication steps
- Screenshots and system logs
- Payroll impact analysis where relevant
- Participate in defect triage forums and support prioritisation discussions.
- Assist in variance analysis during payroll parallel testing.
Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination
- Engage with business SMEs to clarify test scope and validate expected outcomes.
- Support coordination of UAT activities including:
- Scenario walkthroughs
- Test readiness checks
- Execution tracking and issue resolution
- Provide subject matter input into test strategy and planning discussions.
- Support investigation and resolution of complex testing issues in collaboration with DTI and vendor teams.
Risk, Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Identify testing risks and escalate appropriately to the Test Lead.
- Implement continuous improvement activities within testing practices and artefact quality.
- Contribute to refinement of testing templates, standards and knowledge repositories.
- Identify opportunities for test automation where appropriate.
- The Senior Test Analyst is expected to think beyond individual scripts and recognise systemic patterns — particularly where pay rule logic or integration sequencing may create downstream risk.
Professional Independence & Judgement
- Work independently within established testing frameworks.
- Manage multiple competing priorities across parallel test cycles.
- Exercise judgement in applying testing standards to complex workforce scenarios.
- Provide expert input into test summary reporting and phase readiness assessments.
Technical & Professional Competencies
- Strong understanding of the full testing lifecycle and quality assurance principles.
- Experience working across Agile and Waterfall delivery models.
- Demonstrated experience using test management and defect tracking tools such as:
- Azure DevOps
- Jira
- Quality Centre (or equivalent platforms)
- Strong analytical capability, particularly in validating calculation-based systems.
- High level written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project or similar).
- Experience working on Workforce Management, HRIS or Payroll systems (highly desirable).
- Understanding of award interpretation, pay rules logic and payroll reconciliation principles (desirable for UKG programs).
Required Skills
Essential
· Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, IT or something relevant to software testing
· Demonstrated experience as a Test Analyst
· Exposure to Time & Attendance, Payroll, HRIS processes and systems, specifically Kronos or UKG Pro
Desirable
· Prior experience in the Health Industry
· ISTQB Certification – Foundation Level
