Animal Attendant (Pet Boarding)

We’re now looking for energetic, reliable Casual Animal Attendants to join our Pet Hotel & Doggy Daycare Hanrob Brisbane team (right outside Brisbane Airport) for the September/October school holidays – with potential for high performers to stay on in our casual pool beyond this time. Successful applicants must be available to start shifts as early as 7am, work weekends and throughout the upcoming school holiday period.

What’s on offer:

  • All training provided (successful candidates must be available for training 3 weekdays starting by 1 September - dates TBA)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Caring for boarding and daycare pets – feeding, grooming, enrichment
  • Frequent cleaning and upkeep of facility to maintain a high level of hygiene and safety
  • Health checks and general animal husbandry
  • Supervising dogs and managing their behaviours to maintain overall wellbeing and safety
  • Providing exercise and enrichment to pets
  • Providing friendly service to pet owners at drop-off and pick-up
  • Supporting your team to ensure the best outcomes for our furry guests

What we’re looking for:

  • Animal lovers who are available throughout the holidays and weekends, with the ability to pick up additional shifts at short notice to cover unplanned absences from time to time
  • Physically fit and comfortable working indoors and outdoors with pets of all sizes
  • Previous experience in animal care, pet retail, or vet clinics is a bonus
  • Qualifications in Animal Studies or Companian Animal Services (or currently studying) are desirable but not essential
  • Own transport essential (public transport does not service our location during operating hours)
  • Confident communicators with a friendly, professional approach to customer service
  • Reliable, positive team players who enjoy fast-paced, hands-on work
  • Ability to work independently and willing to ask for guidance when needed
  • Be committed to working safely and following instructions, policies and procedures at all times

Please note: This is a physically active role that requires the ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, bend, kneel, and handle animals (up to 50kg). You must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, and comfortably interact with pets, team members, and customers. A Pre-Employment Medical Disclosure will be required to ensure you can safely perform the inherent requirements of the role.
