People & Culture Advisor

At Kip, the People & Culture Advisor plays a critical role supporting recruitment and the smooth running of day-to-day people operations across our sites. This role is best suited to someone who enjoys high-volume recruitment, practical HR admin and being the first point of contact for managers and team members. This role is integral in ensuring timely, accurate and effective people management across all sites.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment, including job ads, screening, interviews, references and offers in partnership with managers to keep recruitment moving and roles filled.
  • Manage recruitment inboxes and candidate communication.
  • Facilitate onboarding for new hires, ensuring a smooth integration into teams, systems and the business.
  • Manage and respond to enquiries through various HR inboxes and comms channels (primarily Slack), supporting employees and managers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain our HRIS and assist with basic documentation, including contracts, policies, and employee records as directed.
  • Provide basic HR advice across areas such as probation, leave, workers compensation and conduct.
  • Coordinate HR activities and calendar, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Prepare standard HR documents and correspondence as directed.
  • Support the payroll team to deliver timely and accurate pay runs each fortnight.
  • Support the implementation and communication of Kip policies and procedures.
  • Escalate complex or sensitive matters to the Head of People & Culture.
  • Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and provide information, HR reports and correspondence as required.
  • Communicate and act in ways that are consistent with Kip Happy Stays Values of Fun, Compassion, Honesty, Expertise and Achievement.

Experience & Skills:

  • Qualification in HR, business or a related field or strong relevant on-the-job experience.
  • Proven experience in recruitment or high-volume hiring environments.
  • Solid understanding of core HR processes and employee lifecycle administration.
  • Exposure to performance management or disciplinary processes is a benefit, not essential.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident using Google Workspace and HR systems.
  • Organised, proactive and comfortable working autonomously.
  • Professionalism and strong work ethic.
  • Builds trust easily with managers and frontline teams.
  • Genuine interest in pet care and animal welfare.
