Kip Adelaide North

Assistant Manager / 2IC (Pet Boarding)

At Kip Happy Stays, we’re passionate about providing exceptional care and enrichment for pets — and creating a workplace where our people can genuinely grow and thrive.

We’re currently looking for a motivated and hands-on Assistant Manager / 2IC to join the team at Kip Adelaide North.

This is a key support role working alongside the Site Manager in the day-to-day running of a busy dog and cat boarding facility. You’ll help lead the team on shift, support daily operations, provide exceptional care to our guests, and help create a positive experience for both pets and their owners.

Whether you come from retail, hospitality, operations, customer service, animal care or another fast-paced leadership environment, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading from the front, building strong teams, and creating a positive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the daily operations of the site alongside the Site Manager
  • Lead and motivate team members to deliver exceptional service and high-quality pet care
  • Assist with rostering, workflow coordination and shift management
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and safety
  • Handle customer enquiries, bookings and escalations professionally
  • Assist with onboarding, coaching and supporting team members
  • Step into operational leadership when the Site Manager is unavailable
  • Help drive a positive, accountable and high-performing team culture

About you:

  • Previous experience working with dogs, cats or within an animal care environment is highly regarded but not essential
  • Leadership or supervisory experience is preferred but not essential
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Hands-on, proactive and willing to jump in wherever needed
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
  • Passionate about animal welfare and team culture
  • Comfortable working weekends, public holidays and peak holiday periods as required

Why join Kip?

  • Genuine career progression opportunities within a growing national company
  • Supportive leadership team and structured onboarding
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Staff discounts across Kip services
  • Access to leadership development programs and workshops
  • Work in a fun, active environment alongside passionate animal lovers
  • No two days are the same — and yes, there are daily pet cuddles!

Further details:

  • Permanent full-time position
  • Rosters across weekdays, weekends and peak holiday periods
  • Applicants must hold a current drivers license and have reliable transport

If you’re looking for your next leadership opportunity and want to be part of a company that genuinely values its people, pets and culture, we’d love to hear from you!

Apply now with your resume and a short cover letter telling us why you’d be a great fit for the role.
