Hanrob Heathcote

Animal Attendant (Pet Boarding) - Full time opportunity!

At Hanrob Pet Hotels, we’re passionate pet people delivering health, happiness, and wellbeing to Aussie pet families. With over 40 years of experience and a national presence, we’re the trusted name in pet boarding and daycare. We’re now looking for a dedicated, hands-on Full-Time Animal Attendant to join our passionate Heathcote Pet Hotel team in Sydney’s Southern Suburbs.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll be cross-trained across all areas of our pet hotel – from caring for our four-legged guests to providing friendly customer service at reception. You’ll have opportunities to develop your skills, learn new aspects of the business, and progress your career within our national network.

What’s on offer:

  • Full-time, permanent role – Tuesday to Saturday roster (38 hours per week)
  •  Varied role with training, career development, and daily work with animals in a supportive team

What you’ll be doing:

  • Caring for boarding and daycare pets – feeding, grooming support, enrichment
  • Conducting health checks and monitoring wellbeing
  • Cleaning and maintaining high standards of hygiene across the facility
  • Supervising dogs and managing behaviours to ensure safety and comfort
  • Delivering excellent customer service at drop-off and pick-up
  • Assisting on reception – booking management, enquiries, payments, retail sales
  • Supporting your team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous paid or voluntary experience in animal care, pet retail, dog daycare, vet clinics, or similar
  • Confident handling pets of all sizes, with a calm and caring approach
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate professionally
  • Basic computing skills with the ability to quickly learn new software systems
  • Ability to use initiative, seek opportunities to learn, and develop new skills
  • Physically fit and comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather
  • Able to work at pace while maintaining attention to detail
  • A good communicator and positive person who enjoys teamwork
  • Availability to work peak periods including public holidays, Christmas, Easter and school holiday periods
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport (there is no public transport servicing our location during operating hours)

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Certificate II/III in Animal Studies or related qualification
  • Experience in retail sales, reservations, or a fast-paced customer service environment
  • Experience in supporting the training and development of other team members

Please note: This is a physically active role requiring the ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, bend, kneel, and handle animals up to 50kg. A Pre-Employment Medical Disclosure will be required to ensure you can safely perform the inherent requirements of the role.
