People & Culture Advisor

At Kip Happy Stays, the People & Culture Advisor is responsible for providing support, guidance and advice on People & Culture related activities and projects. The People & Culture Advisor is integral in ensuring timely, accurate and effective people management across all sites.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and respond to enquiries through various HR inboxes and comms channels (primarily Slack), supporting employees and managers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support with a range of HR issues including performance management, health and safety, recruitment, probation, workers compensation and termination.
  • Escalate critical or complex people matters to the Head of People & Culture.
  • Support the implementation and communication of Kip policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain our HRIS and assist with basic documentation, including contracts, policies, and employee records as directed.
  • Coordinate HR activities and calendar, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Support the Head of People & Culture with the recruitment process, from job postings through to selection and offers.
  • Facilitate onboarding for new hires, ensuring a smooth integration into teams, systems and the business.
  • Support the payroll team to deliver timely and accurate pay runs each fortnight.
  • Develop and provide information, HR reports and correspondence as required.
  • Communicate and act in ways that are consistent with Kip Happy Stays Values of Fun, Compassion, Honesty, Expertise and Achievement.

Experience & Skills:

  • Tertiary qualification in human resources, business, employment law, learning and development, and/or relevant on-the-job experience.
  • Sound knowledge of human resources principles, policies, procedures and practices.
  • Ability to use initiative and think laterally and strategically.
  • Strong ability to develop good working relationships and gain cooperation and assistance from staff at all levels.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including peers, employees, and external organisations.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills for the creation of reports & correspondence.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and presentation ability.
  • Proficient ability in the use of the Google Suite of programs.
  • Professionalism and strong work ethic.
  • Powerful desire to learn and actively seek professional development.
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously.
  • Passionate about pet care and animal welfare.
