Senior Full Stack Engineer

Kip Happy Stays is Australia’s leading pet services business. From pet accommodation to doggy daycare, everything we do is about improving the health and welfare of the pets in our care.

To power this, we’ve built our own in-house management platform — the system behind our online booking engine, point-of-sale, and CRM. It’s been in development for 5 years and is now the backbone of how we deliver amazing experiences to pets and their families.

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join us on a 6-month contract (20–40 hrs/week, flexible), with the possibility to extend. You’ll work directly with the founders and the original architect of the platform to accelerate our roadmap and deliver features that make a real-world difference.

The Role

• Partner with founders on new features.

• Own scoped tasks and deliver high-quality, scalable code.

• Liaise with and support a remote development team, ensuring smooth collaboration and knowledge sharing.

• Contribute to a product that directly improves pet welfare every day.

• Flexible hours (20–40/week), initial 6-month contract with potential to extend.

• Backend: Laravel 11, PHP 8

• Frontend: Vue 2 + Vuetify

• Database: MySQL

• Hosting: Google App Engine

Key Integrations

• Stripe – payments

• Customer.io – customer communications

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience across backend + frontend (Laravel + Vue ideally).

• Proven ability to ship features in fast-paced environments.

• A self-starter who thrives on ownership.

• Comfortable working with and supporting distributed/remote teams.

• Bonus: passion for animals or interest in pet care.
