Animal Attendant (Pet Boarding)

At Kip Canberra, our team is deeply committed to delivering exceptional care to every furry friend that walks through its doors. We're looking for an admin-focused Animal Attendant to join our team: someone equally comfortable behind the front desk and out on the floor with our furry guests.

This is a permanent, full-time role working across all seven days (Monday–Sunday) on a rotating roster, including flexible hours between 7am–6pm. Availability across all school holiday periods (including Christmas and Easter) is required.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Managing reception duties - answering enquiries via phone and email, greeting clients, and processing bookings and payments
• Accurate record-keeping and data entry across our booking systems
• Provision of food and water for pets in care
• Health checks and general animal husbandry
• Supervising groups of dogs and managing their behaviours to maintain overall wellbeing and safety
• Providing enrichment through play and scheduled activities
• Frequent cleaning and upkeep of facility to maintain a high level of hygiene and safety
• Building and maintaining rapport with our pet owners through feedback and transparency
• Creating and distributing media content for our pet owners through videos and photos

Key requirements:

• Previous administration/reception experience essential
• Previous experience working with animals is preferred
• Current, valid driver's licence required
• Available across weekends and school holiday periods, Monday to Sunday
• Driven and have a strong work ethic
• Physically fit and comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all conditions with pets of various sizes
• Great attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Works well in a team environment
• Able to follow routines, policies and procedures
• Available to attend a lawful unpaid work trial shift (operated within The Fair Work Ombudsman guidelines)
