Build the future of safety at Kent — from the warehouse floor to the Boardroom
Help shape safety across 16 branches and 400+ employees in a national logistics and warehousing environment while working directly with frontline teams and senior leaders.
Kent Relocation Group is entering an exciting phase of business transformation, and we’re looking for a National Safety & Wellbeing Manager to help shape what safety looks like across our organisation for years to come. Kent is investing in strengthening its safety and wellbeing capability as part of a broader business transformation, including improvements to governance, systems and leadership capability.
You’ll have the opportunity to help design the systems, governance and technology that will support safety across the organisation. If you’re a safety leader who enjoys being visible with frontline teams, influencing leaders, and translating operational insight into meaningful strategy, this role offers the best of both worlds.
The Opportunity
In this role you’ll operate at two levels of the organisation. You’ll spend time on site with operational teams, understanding risks, supporting leaders, investigating incidents and strengthening safety practices where the work actually happens. At the same time, you’ll work with senior leaders to ensure Kent has the right systems, governance and insights to manage safety effectively across the business. You’ll be the recognised safety expert supporting our frontline teams, helping them make safer decisions every day while shaping the longer-term safety and wellbeing direction of the organisation.
What You'll Be Doing
This role combines hands-on operational engagement with the opportunity to shape strategy, systems and leadership capability across the business.
- Visiting branches across our national network to support operational leaders and teams
- Investigating incidents and identifying system improvements
- Coaching leaders on practical safety leadership and risk management
- Developing and implementing Kent’s Safety & Wellbeing Strategy
- Introducing improved safety systems and reporting tools
- Embedding psychosocial risk management into operational practices
- Providing clear safety insights and reporting to senior leadership including the Board
This role includes regular travel across our national branch network to stay connected to the operational realities of the business.
Why This Role Is Different
Safety at Kent sits within People & Culture, reporting to the CPO, allowing safety initiatives to directly influence leadership behaviour, culture and the employee experience. Leaders across the business are accountable for safety outcomes, and this role exists to support, guide and strengthen that capability. You’ll work alongside an experienced People & Culture team and a dedicated Return to Work Advisor, allowing clear focus on prevention and safety leadership rather than claims administration.
The Environment
Kent operates a national logistics and warehousing network, supporting complex operational activity across 16 branches and more than 400 employees and contractors. You’ll be the recognised safety expert across our operational network, working directly with leaders and teams to strengthen safety practices and decision-making.
This environment requires a safety leader who is comfortable working with:
- warehouse and operational teams
- vehicle and transport risks
- contractor safety
- manual handling and physical work environments
- evolving psychosocial risk expectations.
Who This Role Will Suit
You’re likely someone who:
- enjoys spending time with frontline teams and operational leaders
- can confidently act as the safety expert in a complex operational environment
- has experience improving safety systems and frameworks
- is comfortable presenting insights to senior leaders
- enjoys building capability and influencing culture, not just enforcing rules
Experience in logistics, warehousing, transport or similar operational environments will be highly regarded.
Why Join Kent
- Shape safety across a national operational network
- Help lead a major business transformation
- Build and implement modern safety systems and technology
- Work in a People & Culture integrated model
- Partner closely with a dedicated RTW Advisor
- Influence both frontline safety and strategic direction
