The Opportunity

Join a growing global Accounting firm in our following offices:

  • 3-4 days a week at Downtown Los Angeles Office
  • 1-2 days a week at Woodland Hills Office

As a Forensic Senior Accountant, you will be a key player in enabling Kelly+Partners’ next phase of growth. The successful applicant will become an integral part of the broader team and will have at least 5+ years' experience in a public practice environment and 3+ years' experience in forensic accounting and litigation.

Position Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and maintain records for the firm and firm’s clients.
  • Managing multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Prepare and execute work plans for forensic accounting investigations including fraud, lost profit, and damage investigations.
  • Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss, cash flows, and other specialized statements.
  • Performs and reviews forensic research to trace funds and identify assets and sources of funds.
  • Conducts and reviews forensic analysis of financial data.
  • Read, interpret, and summarize depositions, complaints, interrogatories, and other court-related filings.
  • Analyze financial statements, damage models and other accounting and financial related documents.
  • Draft reports memorializing findings and opinions.
  • Prepares analytical data and demonstrative exhibits for litigation, business valuations, and forensic audits.
  • Avoid legal challenges by complying with legal requirements and adhering to professional standards.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Create and modify templates, systems, and protocols for streamlining case management.
  • Update, maintain, and enforce office policies and procedures.
  • Perform online research for firms and clients.
  • Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company forensics and consulting procedures.
  • Supervise, train, develop, and direct staff inclusive of monitoring budgets on client engagements.
  • Providing regular feedback and directions to staff ensuring workpapers are consistently formatted and appropriately named and organized.
  • Monitor and review billable times and assist in preparing invoices.

About You 

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • 3+ years of experience in dedicated forensic accounting and litigation support
  • Familiarity with the general commercial litigation process
  • CPA licensure (completed)
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • A proactive approach to tasks with the ability to anticipate project needs and plan ahead for the needs of the client
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Additional certification (e.g CFE, ABV, CFF, MAFF or CMA) preferred
