Position Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Managers and Partners to deliver tax advisory services to private business owners, family groups and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Research complex technical matters across corporate tax, international tax, GST, payroll tax and other indirect taxes.
  • Assist in preparing tax advice, technical reports, private ruling applications and other supporting documentation for clients.
  • Support transaction and restructuring work including acquisitions, disposals, group restructures and due diligence engagements.
  • Assist with tax due diligence engagements and contribute to the development of practical solutions for complex client issues. 
  • Support ATO reviews, audits, disputes and objections through research, technical analysis and documentation preparation.
  • Build strong client relationships by getting to know their businesses and translating that into clear, commercial tax advice.
  • Play an active role in the team's day-to-day work, contributing to knowledge sharing and collective problem-solving.

About You

  • 2+ years' experience in a tax consulting or tax advisory role within a Chartered Accounting firm.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Law (essential), ideally paired with studies in Commerce, Finance or a related discipline.
  • A genuine interest in tax across a broad range of matters – corporate tax, international tax and business structuring, with a real appetite to keep learning and developing.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with sharp attention to detail and the ability to confidently read and interpret financial statements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to break down complex concepts into clear, digestible advice for clients.
  • Driven and ambitious, with a clear focus on building a long-term career in tax advisory.
