Your Impact

As an Intermediate Accountant at Kelly+Partners Canberra, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering technical excellence and supporting the growth of our team. You’ll be trusted to manage key tasks and contribute as an essential member of our operations. Your core responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and SMSFs
  • Completing BAS, IAS, FBT, CGT, and PAYG obligations for a diverse client base
  • Managing payroll tax and workers compensation reconciliations
  • Liaising with statutory authorities and providing support to clients
  • Collaborating on process improvements and contributing to a culture of growth, accountability, and shared success
  • Participating in team events, monthly tax workshops, and professional development sessions
  • Exercising initiative and professional judgement in managing client deliverables

What You Bring

You’re a proactive accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative, high-performing environment and is committed to investing in your long-term career. You bring:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a Chartered Accounting Practice
  • CA qualification or currently undertaking CA studies
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Familiarity with practice management platforms such as MYOB AE, APS, HowNow, Active Ledger, Xero, and QuickBooks - or a strong aptitude for learning new systems
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organisational skills
  • A client-first mindset and commitment to delivering quality service
  • Proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and take initiative
  • A long-term vision to grow into a leadership role and contribute meaningfully to the team
