The Opportunity:

KBR is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to join our Land Engineering Agency in Melbourne on a permanent, full-time basis. This role is responsible for protecting personnel, information, systems and facilities by implementing and maintaining security controls aligned with Australian Government, Defence and KBR security policies.

You will provide specialist oversight across cyber, information, personnel and physical security, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and supporting the secure delivery of Defence and national security programs. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will manage security procedures, respond to incidents, support audits, and engage with internal stakeholders and external agencies.

All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active NV2 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a minimum NV1 Clearance or above should apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting capability and concept development in context with technical security.  
  • Supporting security requirements analysis and development.  
  • Supporting security design and implementation.  
  • Supporting V&V.  
  • Supporting security certification / accreditation and support.  
  • Planning and delivering engineering services, regulatory compliance, resource management and project outcomes.  
  • Supporting reviews of contract deliverables.  
  • Authoring, reviewing, and updating technical plans and trial / test plans or instructions.  
  • Undertaking software and system integration and verification activities including planning, execution, and reporting.  
  • Authoring, reviewing, and updating technical reports, safety case reports, hazard logs and risk logs.  
  • Authoring, reviewing, and updating ICT certification documentation.  
  • Developing Standard Operating Environments (SOEs) that can be hosted in various Operating Systems in accordance with the Guidelines for System Hardening as detailed in the ISM.  
  • Developing and/or maintaining system architectures including enterprise architectures, interface specifications, and related documentation, along with supporting analyses of interfaces with other project and in-service equipment and engaging with their relevant stakeholders. 
  • Coordinating and participating in project stakeholder and working group meetings, including agenda development, minute take and document distribution as required for engineering and technical specific meetings.   
  • Providing software and systems technical advice to project executive authorities and team members.  
  • Liaising with the Tactical Data Bureau (TDLB) and Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC) on behalf of IFSW equipment

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

  • Relevant higher degree qualification or 8+ years’ experience in relevant industry. 
  • Holds NV2 AGSVA Security Clearance, or an NV1 with ability to upgrade to NV2. 
  • Work is often self-initiated. Is fully responsible for meeting allocated technical and/or project/supervisory objectives 
  • Analyses, designs, plans, executes, and evaluates work to time, cost, and quality, targets. Assesses and evaluates risk. Communicates effectively, both formally and informally. 
  • Takes initiative to keep skills up to date. 
  • Maintains an awareness of developments in the industry.
