The Opportunity:

KBR is seeking a highly skilled Lead Cyber & Physical Security Specialist to provide expert security advice and assurance to the Future Air Mobility System Program Office (FAMSPO).

In this pivotal role, you will serve as FAMSPO’s Information, Networks and Physical Security Advisor, supporting the acquisition, integration and introduction into service of new Air Mobility capabilities for the Royal Australian Air Force. You will work collaboratively with the Program Engineering Manager (PEM), Project Managers, APS and ADF personnel to ensure all project security requirements are identified, assessed, accredited and effectively managed.

This position spans the full security lifecycle from governance development and compliance assurance, through to accreditation, training coordination and specialist technical advice.

 

Key Responsibilities

  •  Provide specialist security expertise to FAMSPO across both project and business functions.
  • Develop, review and approve security certification, assessment, accreditation and authorisation artefacts, including SCCGs and supplier security plans.
  • Review OEM security design documentation for compliance with Defence and industry standards, and manage any identified non-compliance.
  • Develop and implement governance and assurance processes that ensure alignment with Defence policy, legislative requirements and CASG frameworks.
  • Transfer knowledge and mentor personnel to uplift internal security capability.
  • Coordinate and deliver security training aligned to project and organisational needs.
  • Manage the accreditation process across the full scope of FAMSPO projects.
  • Provide expert advice on the application of the Information Security Manual (ISM) and DASA-recognised airworthiness security processes to support certification of aircraft systems, equipment and networks.

 As the ideal candidate you will bring:

  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) through Systems Security Engineers Australia, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience within Defence CASG’s Aerospace environment.
  • Strong understanding of the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) and Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF).
  • Demonstrated experience managing Information, Networks and Physical Security requirements.
  • Proven knowledge of CASG Quality Management Systems (QMS) processes and approvals.
  • Authorisation to access ITAR-controlled information.
  • Excellent analytical, written communication and documentation skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building capability.
  • Sound understanding of Defence Systems Security Engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with the One Defence Capability System (ODCS).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Defence security policies, including cyber, information and physical security frameworks.

 

Due to the nature of Defence work, applicants must be Australian citizens and hold an active NV1 security clearance.
