The Opportunity

As we prepare for upcoming program opportunities, we are seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Deputy Project Managers – Acquisition to support delivery across major Defence acquisition programs.

This role is suited to professionals with hands-on experience in Defence procurement and acquisition environments, who can drive coordination, governance, and delivery assurance across multiple acquisition streams.

You will support acquisition planning and procurement execution across complex capability programs, contributing to the delivery of compliant, audit-ready and fully integrated acquisition outcomes.

Working within a structured PMO environment, you will coordinate documentation, stakeholder inputs, and governance activities to ensure alignment with Defence and program-level expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Support acquisition planning and procurement activities across Defence acquisition streams.
  • Coordinate and maintain acquisition artefacts
  • Ensure artefacts are complete, consistent, and aligned
  • Assurance and audit requirements
  • Early identification and escalation of risks and issues
  • Manage and maintain key project registers
  • Integrate updates into program-level frameworks
  • Support stakeholder coordination across Defence, industry, and internal delivery teams to enable timely and informed decision-making

As the ideal candidate you will bring: 

  • Experience supporting Defence acquisition or sustainment programs (CASG experience highly regarded)
  • Knowledge of procurement processes (e.g. ASDEFCON, tender evaluations, contract support)
  • Strong understanding of project controls and PMO frameworks
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple workstreams
  • Strong documentation, coordination, and governance skills
  • Experience maintaining audit-ready artefacts and supporting assurance activities
  • Minimum AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance and Australian citizenship required to be eligible.

Highly Regarded:

  • Experience supporting complex acquisition activities such as:
  • Tender evaluations
  • Contract development or negotiations
  • Familiarity with Defence Capability Life Cycle
  • Experience integrating technical, commercial, and regulatory inputs
  • Existing or ability to obtain a Defence security clearance
