The Opportunity
KBR is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to support Australia’s Guided Weapons & Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) program one of the nation’s most strategically significant Defence initiatives. This role will lead complex procurement and contracting activities, supporting sovereign capability outcomes while ensuring compliance with Commonwealth and Defence frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end procurement and contract management activities
- Drive industry engagement (workshops, briefings, tenders, forums)
- Manage CASG elements of Industry Engagement Strategies & Plans
- Draft and review ASDEFCON contracts and procurement documentation
- Support tender evaluations, negotiations, and contract award
- Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks
- Provide expert advice on commercial strategy and submissions
- Deliver guidance on probity, ethics, and compliance frameworks
- Build strong relationships across Defence, industry, and internal teams
- Support training and capability uplift in procurement practices
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
- 5+ years’ experience in commercial, procurement, or contracting roles
- Strong knowledge of Defence / Commonwealth procurement frameworks
- Proven experience with ASDEFCON and complex contracts
- Background in tendering, evaluations, and negotiations
- Excellent communication & stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong analytical and risk management capability
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Engineering, Finance, or similar
- Minimum AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance and Australian citizenship required to be eligible.
